News + Events › Annual Student Events › Leadership Education Conference
In the past this was two separate events, Officer Leadership Training (OLC) for high school students, and Reach Officer Leadership Education Seminar (R.O.L.E.S.) for middle school students. However, in 2008 we combined the two events into a new event: the Leadership Education Conference (LEC).
The conference spans three nights: the fist night is for Project Reach students who have been elected to their school’s Project Reach Council. The second and third nights are for JMG high school students who have been selected to be officers in their Career Associations.
During this event, students from all over the state meet at Pine Tree Camp in Rome, ME to share their ideas about fund raising and community service activities for the year, complete leadership training and team-buiding initiatives, and develop a group dynamic. All students also get to experience spending an overnight in a cabin.
Volunteers are needed to help with the initiatives and leadership training at LEC, which will be held from Tuesday, September 29 through Friday, October 2, 2009. If you are interested in volunteering, please call (207) 620-7180 x201.
