Opportunity Passport
The Opportunity Passport™ program is an important financial literacy and matched savings program that helps Maine youth develop an understanding about managing personal finances and can help youth save toward the purchase of specific assets.
After determination of eligibility and training, program participants open an Individual Development Account (IDA) - a matched savings account. Money saved by the youth will be matched, dollar for dollar up to $1,000 per year, when an asset is purchased. Hundreds of Maine youth who are currently or formerly in foster care have benefited from Opportunity Passport™ which is funded by the Jim Casey Foundation. Learn more about the Casey Foundation.
