Don't just take our word for it.

JMG is fortunate to have strong partnerships with the
Governor and legislature, private foundations, businesses,
and public education. Each of these partners is
committed to seeing more Maine students succeed.

I have to tell you how incredibly excited I am about the JMG program being offered this year at CHS. It makes me hopeful for our community of Caribou to have such a program that can help create leaders and good citizens with the stress on high school graduation and post-secondary education. Goals and a hopeful future give our children something to work for and give them hope of creating a better world for themselves and their families. I will be happy to support this wonderful program in any way!

“It is nice being honored for what we are doing to help  JMG, but it is really us, the partners, who should be honoring JMG for the work they are doing.”

“My twin nephews are now juniors. They entered JMG in the 7th grade in pretty bad shape. But because of the program, they are going into vocational training for plumbing and heating and they are happier than ever.”

"Ten years ago, JMG was focused on ensuring students graduated from high school. As we listened to our stakeholders in education and in the business community, we realized we had to change and expand our model to support students through college, continued education and career training. Today, JMG is the only statewide nonprofit that offers a continuum of support to students from middle school to high school to college and careers. JMG allows students to reach their fullest potential and find their pathways to be productive and successful adults."

"JMG helped me in so many ways: to write a resume, stay organized in high school, find a job, apply to college; and during college they've helped me focus on graduating and meeting the right people for my future goals. JMG really helps get you ready for the real world.  It has kept me going forward and I've met a lot of good people along the way."

"JMG taught me a lot about how to be successful in the workforce. It taught me how to be a leader, as well as a team player. And, whether students are going on to school after graduation or straight into the workforce, JMG plays a key role in making sure they have what it takes to reach their goals."

"JMG taught me what the real world was going to be like. The reason I'm where I am today is because my JMG specialist taught all of us if you want to do something, go for it and give it all you've got. If you don’t try, you'll never know what you're made of. This is how I live my life every day.”

"We continue to invest in students, because these kids are Maine’s future. Maine’s got lots of challenges and we need to meet them. Lots of students have lots of challenges, too.  And JMG helps the state and helps students meet their challenges. So if we work together, the state prospers, students get educated, and everything gets better."

“When your organization is giving money to a nonprofit, it’s unusual for the nonprofit to come back to you and report the results so effectively. Usually, as a funder, you have to hold your grantees accountable. But JMG’s culture is so focused on achieving results for students that everyone from the board members, to the CEO, to the Specialists, to the students holds each other to high expectations. It's why as JMG continues to grow and expand, it is able to continue to ensure quality programs and outcomes.”

"Creating jobs for students in the JMG program has been a goal of mine since I was introduced to their work in the early 2000’s. I know that the youth we employ from JMG programs are dedicated and driven to succeed. Knowing that the youth are supported by JMG Specialists was a huge help in hiring and employing my crew. I was able to go into classes and meet students at SMCC to share what we were looking for and answer questions. The Specialists were also able to support the students in preparing application materials and prepping for interviews, real life application of the deeper learning skills they are being taught in the program. Having worked with students from JMG programs for three months now, I could not be more satisfied with their performance, attendance, and attitude."

"If it weren't  for my experience in JMG, I know I wouldn’t be where I am today.
JMG helped me find myself, helped me engage more with my peers, to communicate, to listen, to be someone I didn’t think I could be."
